Transformers and Rectifiers India Limited (TARIL) has disclosed a domestic contract valued at Rs 53.33 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. The order covers work on a 397 MVA HVDC Converter Transformer.Â
TARIL notified BSE and NSE on 04 December 2025. The disclosure states that Power Grid has awarded work for repair, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 397 MVA HVDC Converter Transformer and associated tasks. Delivery of transformers is scheduled for the next financial year.
TARIL described this as its first HVDC Converter Transformer order secured as an Indian origin private sector company. The company said this places TARIL among a limited group of global HVDC transformer manufacturers and creates new opportunities in the HVDC segment.Â
The disclosure also outlines market drivers that include renewable energy integration, grid modernisation, planned transmission expansion, cross border transmission prospects, and demand for advanced technologies such as VSC systems. TARIL noted that the contract supports the Government of India’s Make in India vision by adding an indigenous manufacturer in the HVDC space.
