Reportedly, NTPC Ltd has begun identifying land across 16 states for future nuclear projects. The company is in discussions with state governments in Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Gujarat, and others to secure suitable locations for its operations.

NTPC’s outreach aligns with its long-term plan to develop 30 GW of nuclear capacity by 2047, contributing to the national target of 100 GW set by the Centre. The company created a dedicated subsidiary, NTPC Paramanu Urja Nigam Ltd, earlier this year to steer its nuclear business.

NTPC currently operates around 8 GW of nuclear capacity in partnership with Nuclear Power Corporation of India.
