KP Group has announced a partnership with GH2 Solar and South Korea’s AHES Co. Ltd. to develop a green ammonia production facility in India with a planned capacity of 100,000 metric tons per annum (TPA).
The project will be executed through KPI GH, with AHES and GH2 providing technical and strategic support. This includes arranging offtake agreements for the output, targeting South Korea, Japan, and other global markets. KP Group said AHES will also act as one of the principal offtakers.
The facility will be powered by renewable energy and infrastructure supplied by KP Group entities such as KPI Green Energy, K.P. Energy, and KP Green Engineering.
KP Group currently has more than 1.9 gigawatts (GW) of operational power capacity and over 3.9 GW under development. GH2 Solar has delivered more than 650 solar projects across India and has been selected under the government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for green hydrogen and electrolyzer manufacturing. AHES manufactures green hydrogen production equipment and storage systems.
Recently, GH2 Solar announced a green hydrogen electrolyser manufacturing plant in Piparsewa, Morena district, Madhya Pradesh, in a joint venture with AHES.
