PFCCL seeks bids for Wagdari and Pune (East) transmission projects
Author: PPD Team Date: August 13, 2025
PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL), acting as the bid process coordinator appointed by the Government of Maharashtra, has invited proposals to implement two transmission schemes in the state through tariff-based competitive bidding.
1. Transmission Scheme for Establishment of 400/220 kV AIS Wagdari (Dist. Solapur)
The transmission scheme involves establishing a 400/220 kV Air Insulated Substation (AIS) at Wagdari, Solapur district, with three 500 MVA transformers and associated bus reactors, line bays, and future space for an additional transformer. The project includes multiple double-circuit (D/C) lines: a 400 kV line from Wagdari to the proposed 765 kV Pune (East) substation, another 400 kV line to the 400 kV Solapur Pooling Station, and a 220 kV line connecting new and proposed Wagdari substations.
The plan also provides 400 kV and 220 kV line bays for solar generators at Wagdari, and a 220 kV line from Wagdari to the existing 220 kV Narangwadi substation. The last date for bid submission is 13 October 2025.
2. Network Expansion scheme in Maharashtra for removal of Transmission constrains in Pune Region-I (765/400 kV AIS Pune East)
The network expansion scheme in Maharashtra targets removing transmission constraints in Pune Region-I at the 765/400 kV AIS Pune East substation. The plan includes establishing Pune East with two 1,500 MVA, 765/400 kV interconnecting transformers (ICTs) and a 240 MVAr bus reactor at 765 kV. The substation will have multiple bays for ICTs, lines, and reactors, with future provisions for additional 765 kV and 400 kV line bays.
The project also involves line-in-line-out (LILO) of both circuits from the existing 765 kV Pune (GIS) Shikrapur to the proposed 765 kV Pune-III (GIS) at Pune East. Additionally, two 400 kV double-circuit lines will connect Pune East to the existing 400 kV AIS Karjat and Lonikand-II substations. Line end bays will be added at Karjat and Lonikand-II, with two 400 kV bays each. The last date for bid submission is 10 October 2025
The scheduled completion for both schemes is within 24 months from the effective date.
