Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi highlighted Diu as the first district in India to meet its full power demand through solar energy. Diu has installed 11.88 MW capacity (9 MW ground-mounted, 2.88 MW rooftop), covering its entire daytime electricity needs.
