R S Infraprojects wins Rs 1.14 bn contract for Jharkhand transmission lines

R S Infraprojects Private Limited has secured a contract worth Rs 1,144.64 million under the Jharkhand Power System Improvement Project. The contract covers the construction of two 220 kV double-circuit (DC) transmission lines.
The first line will run 47.7 km from Chaibasa (PGCIL) to Jadugoda (New), while the second will span 51.3 km from Chandil (New) to Jadugoda (New). The total project length is 99 km.
Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Nigam Limited (JUSNL) had invited bids for the package in August 2024.
This initiative is part of the Government of India’s Power for All program, launched in 2014. It aims to improve power transmission infrastructure and enhance the performance of state utilities.
The project includes the use of modern technologies such as automated substations and network planning tools. It is expected to improve power supply reliability and customer service in Jharkhand.
Funding support is being provided by the World Bank.
