NHPC Limited issued a tender on May 9, 2025, for the Lot-I civil works package of the Uri-I Stage II Hydro Electric Project in Jammu & Kashmir. The last date for bid submission is June 9, 2025.
The package includes construction of the Head Race Tunnel (HRT), pressure shaft/penstock, surge shaft, underground power house and transformer caverns, tail race tunnel (TRT), adits, bus ducts, ventilation tunnels and shafts, and other related structures.
The estimated cost of the Lot-I works is Rs 10,696.6 million.
The Uri-I Stage II Hydro Electric Project will be implemented in the Uri, Boniyar, Kreeri, Baramulla, and Rafiabad sub-districts of Baramulla district, Jammu & Kashmir. NHPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir for the project, which will be developed on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis for 40 years.
The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 21.67 billion.
