Hygenco, Mitsubishi Power partner to advance green hydrogen, ammonia technologies

Hygenco Green Energies and Mitsubishi Power have signed an MoU to develop and deploy green hydrogen and ammonia-fired gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plants. Hygenco will supply green fuel, while Mitsubishi Power will handle the development and management of production facilities, aiming to scale up green hydrogen for commercial viability.

Mitsubishi Power is also working on converting existing GTCC plants from natural gas to hydrogen and ammonia, driving the transition to cleaner energy.

This partnership follows Hygenco’s recent agreements with Ameropa for green ammonia supply and with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL) for a green hydrogen and ammonia project, highlighting growing investment in green energy.

94% of Indian consumers equipped with electric meters, reports CEA

As of 31st March 2024, 94.29% of India’s 341.8 million consumers are equipped with electric meters, according to a report by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
