Energy producer and supplier Energie Baden-Württemberg (EnBW) has secured winning bids for seven solar parks in an open-field photovoltaic (PV) auction held by the German Federal Network Agency. The projects, with a combined output of 184 MW, will be developed across Germany.

Five of the solar parks will be constructed in Baden-Württemberg, located in southwest Germany, at sites in Langenburg, Mulfingen, Adelsheim, Geislingen-Erlaheim, and Sigmaringen-Gutenstein. Additional solar parks will be built in Lauenhagen, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Görlsdorf, Brandenburg, near the Polish border.

EnBW currently operates more than 41 solar parks with an installed output of 760 MW, including 26 solar parks in Baden-Württemberg with a total capacity of 173 MW. The company also develops solar projects without state subsidies, such as an 80 MW solar park in Baden-Württemberg expected to be operational by 2025.

EnBW plans to invest €40 billion ($44 billion) in the energy transition by 2030, with 90% of the funds allocated to Germany. In addition to the solar projects, the company has begun constructing a 72 MW solar/wind hybrid energy park in Gundelsheim.

Germany aims to install 215 GW of solar capacity by 2030, with forecasts predicting a compound annual growth rate of more than 13% in the German solar PV market by 2035.
