On April 15, 2025, Serentica Renewables India Private Limited (SRIPL) signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited for the development of a 200 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project. The project is part of NTPC’s Tranche-II FDRE auction and will be connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS).
The agreement follows Serentica Renewables’ success in securing the 200 MW FDRE capacity under NTPC’s Tranche-II auction held in March 2024. During the auction, Serentica, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Serentica Renewables India 11 Private Limited, quoted a tariff of Rs 4.71 per kWh. NTPC had invited bids for 3,000 MW capacity in October 2023.
The project will involve the setup of over 600 MW of ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects, including an energy storage system (ESS) to ensure reliable energy supply. The 200 MW FDRE capacity will be supplied to the distribution companies (DISCOMs) of Uttar Pradesh. The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months from the signing of the PPA.
