Power Mech Projects Limited has won a Rs 5,790 million contract for civil, structural, and architectural works at the 2×800 MW Koderma Thermal Power Expansion Project. 

The contract, awarded by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on March 21, 2025, includes leveling and grading of the entire power block area for Unit 3 and Unit 4. The work is expected to be completed in 32 months.

The Koderma Thermal Power Station, located in Hirodih, Chandwara, Jharkhand, currently has a 1,000 MW capacity. Unit 1 (500 MW) was commissioned in July 2011, and Unit 2 (500 MW) followed in February 2013. Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) is undertaking a brownfield expansion with the addition of Unit 3 and Unit 4, each with an 800 MW capacity.

In February 2025, Power Mech secured another contract worth Rs 1.65 billion from BHEL for the Koderma expansion. This contract covers design, engineering, main supply, mandatory spares, and civil works, including erection and commissioning.
