Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) invited bids for the position of national power engineer (power distribution) for the Maharashtra Rural High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS) Project on March 8, 2025. The last date for bid submission is March 14, 2025.
The state government and MSEDCL plan to provide new grid-connected agricultural connections through HVDS. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will fund HVDS planning and development under its result-based lending modality.
The project covers Vidarbha, Marathwada, Konkan, western Maharashtra, and northern Maharashtra. It includes upgrading 121 33/11 kV substations, 11 kV distribution lines, transformers, and connections. The substations will occupy 1,600 square meters, mostly on government land, with potential private land acquisition.
This project aims to enhance reliable power supply to rural Maharashtra’s agricultural customers.
