PFCCL incorporates SPV for Kakinada green hydrogen transmission project

PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) has incorporated Kakinada I Transmission Limited, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for the development of the transmission system for proposed green hydrogen and green ammonia projects in the Kakinada area, Andhra Pradesh (Phase-I), on February 20, 2025.
PFCCL has been designated as the bid process coordinator (BPC) for selecting a transmission service provider (TSP) through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.
The transmission scheme includes the establishment of a 765/400 kV substation with 3×1500 MVA transformers and a 240 MVAr bus reactor. Additionally, the Line-In-Line-Out (LILO) of the existing 765 kV Srikakulam-Vemagiri double circuit (D/C) line at the Kakinada substation will enhance transmission capacity.
The project, with an investment of Rs 161.85 billion, is scheduled for completion within 24 months from the date of SPV transfer.
