THDC Limited has invited bids for hiring a consultant to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the Varahi Pumped Storage Project (PSP) in Karnataka. The bidding process began on February 6, 2025, with the last date for submission set for February 24, 2025.
The Government of Karnataka has allotted the project to Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL), which has completed preliminary studies and prepared a pre-feasibility report (PFR).
Located in Shivamogga and Udupi districts, the project will have a powerhouse with six units of 250 MW each, totalling 1,500 MW.
