Torrent Saurya Urja 2 Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Torrent Power Limited (TPL), has commissioned a 300 MW grid-connected solar power project in Gujarat.
TPL won bids in April 2021 for a 150 MW base capacity and an additional 150 MW under the greenshoe option at a tariff of Rs 2.22 per kWh. The bids were invited by Torrent Power Limited – Distribution (TPL-D) in December 2020 for 300 MW, with an option for an additional 300 MW.
The project includes 300 MW/420 MWp of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity. Power generated will be supplied to TPL-D under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
