JSW Energy wins resolution plan for KSK Mahanadi Power under CIRP

JSW Energy has been declared the successful applicant for the resolution plan of KSK Mahanadi Power Company (KMPCL) under the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) and has received a letter of intent (LoI).
The resolution plan was approved by the Committee of Creditors and is now awaiting regulatory approvals from the National Company Law Tribunal and the Competition Commission of India.Â
KMPCL owns a 3,600 MW thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh, with 1,800 MW operational and under power purchase agreements, and another 1,800 MW under construction.
Once complete, JSW Energy’s thermal generation capacity will increase to 7.5 GW, contributing to a total generation capacity of 28.2 GW.
