NTPC reports strong growth in power generation in FY 2024-25

NTPC achieved significant growth during the April-December period of FY 2024-25. Power generation reached 326 billion units (BU), a four per cent increase from last year.Â
The company made notable progress in coal mining, extracting 30.88 MT, a 23 per cent year-over-year rise.
The plant load factor (PLF) of NTPC’s coal stations reached 76.20 per cent by the end of Q3.Â
By December 2024, NTPC Group’s installed capacity grew to 76,598 MW, with 2,724 MW added this year. The company has an additional 29.5 GW, including 9.6 GW of renewable capacity, under construction, to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy by 2032.
NTPC exceeded coal production targets, dispatching 30.55 MT of coal to power stations, a 19 per cent increase.Â
The company has produced over 134.87 MT and dispatched more than 132.98 MT from its five operational mines in Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.
