NTPC aims to increase its installed capacity from 76 GW to 130 GW by 2032, presenting significant growth prospects for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The company’s procurement value is expected to rise from Rs 190.75 billion in FY24 to Rs 325 billion by 2032, with MSMEs contributing over 52 per cent of FY24 procurement.
Over five years, NTPC’s MSME procurement grew six-fold, from Rs 16.67 billion in FY20 to Rs 98.51 billion in FY24.
The number of MSME vendors more than doubled from 1,375 in FY20 to 3,047 in FY24. Procurement from SC/ST entrepreneurs increased from Rs 150 million in FY20 to Rs 250 million in FY24, while procurement from women entrepreneurs rose from Rs 60 million to Rs 642 million during the same period.
NTPC leverages the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform and aims for 100 per cent procurement through it, covering materials, services, and contracts.
Its Unified Shared Services Centre (USSC), established in Raipur in 2021, centralizes procurement and vendor engagement.
