According to a Reuters report, Adani Power stated that it has no indication the Bangladesh government plans to review its 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the company.
This follows earlier claims that Bangladesh is seeking to renegotiate terms to lower electricity prices or cancel the deal through legal means.
The PPA, signed in 2017, involves Adani Power supplying electricity from a $2 billion coal-fired plant in eastern India.
The agreement is under investigation by a committee of experts after a directive from Bangladesh’s High Court.
Adani Power is attempting to recover more than $800 million in dues from Bangladesh while continuing to supply 700–750 MW of power, down from the earlier 1,400–1,500 MW.
The company expressed concerns over unpaid dues affecting plant operations but stated it is in ongoing discussions with Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and government officials, who have assured the clearance of outstanding payments.
