ENERCON has partnered with Iceland’s state-owned energy provider Landsvirkjun to deliver the country’s first large wind farm.
The 120 MW project in Búrfell, approximately 130 km from Reykjavik, will use 28 E-138 EP3 turbines.
Construction begins this year with turbine installation scheduled for 2026.
Additionally, ENERCON has signed a letter of intent with Turkish energy firms Iş Enerji and Polat Enerji to develop 2,500 MW of onshore wind capacity in Türkiye and nearby countries over the next five years.
The collaboration, formalized at the German-Turkish Energy Forum in Berlin, will feature ENERCON’s E-175 EP5 turbines, which can produce 6.0–7.0 MW each.
This agreement builds on ENERCON’s long-standing role in Türkiye, where it has already installed over 3 GW of wind capacity.
