Carbon Minus wins Rs 39.6 billion contracts for solar projects in Maharashtra

Carbon Minus Energy Private Limited has secured contracts worth Rs 39.6 billion from Maharashtra State Power Generation Corporation (MSPGCL) and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for developing 904 MW of decentralized solar power projects across the state.

Out of the total capacity, MSEDCL has awarded 730 MW, while MSPGCL has allocated 174 MW.

The projects are aimed at agricultural feeder-level solarization under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0, a part of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program’s Component C.

The solar projects are expected to be implemented in multiple phases within 12-18 months. This initiative supports the Government of Maharashtra’s vision to provide stable daytime electricity to agricultural consumers, targeting the solarization of at least 30 per cent of agricultural feeders by installing 7,000 MW of solar power capacity by 2025.
