Neoen secures 164 MWp in French solar and agrisolar tenders
French renewable energy developer Neoen has won seven solar and agrivoltaic projects totalling 164 MWp in the latest round of tenders conducted by the French Energy Regulation Commission (CRE).
This achievement enhances Neoen’s position in the ground-mounted solar sector in France, where it has now been awarded a cumulative 642 MWp in PPE21 tenders.
With these new projects, Neoen’s secured capacity in France exceeds 2.5 GW. The projects are scheduled for commissioning between 2026 and 2029, except for the 73 MWp Tourneuve project, which is slated for 2032 due to pending grid upgrades.
Neoen plans to collaborate with local authorities and stakeholders across various French regions to ensure community acceptance and alignment with environmental goals. Four of the awarded projects are agrivoltaic, integrating renewable energy generation with agricultural activities, emphasizing Neoen’s commitment to sustainable development.
Guillaume Decaen, Neoen’s business development director for France, expressed gratitude towards local stakeholders and farmers, highlighting 2023 as a record year for Neoen with nearly 500 MW of solar and wind capacity awarded in CRE tenders. CEO Xavier Barbaro praised the team’s efforts and reaffirmed Neoen’s commitment to contributing to France’s and global energy transitions through its robust pipeline of solar, wind, and storage projects.
In April 2023, Neoen also began constructing three solar plants in Italy with a total capacity of 24.7 MW, further showcasing its expanding renewable energy portfolio.
