Oracle Power and joint venture Oracle Energy have completed a crucial transmission and grid interconnection study for their 1.3GW hybrid renewable power plant in Jhimpir, Sindh province, Pakistan.
Conducted by Power Planners International (PPI) and funded by State Grid China, the study assessed the technical feasibility of connecting the plant to the 220kV Jhimpir-II grid station.
This hybrid plant will integrate 800MW of solar and 500MW of wind power, supported by a 260MW battery energy storage system (BESS). A 35km double-circuit transmission line will facilitate the connection, enabling efficient power delivery from the plant’s 1.1GW net output. The voltage will be elevated to 33kV to meet the national grid’s requirements, supported by a BESS and static var compensator for enhanced system reliability.
This project is positioned to strengthen Pakistan’s energy security and support sustainable development.
