Doosan Enerbility has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) and Equinor to collaborate on the 750MW Bandibuli floating offshore wind farm project off the coast of Ulsan, South Korea.

The project, led by Equinor, will deploy Siemens Gamesa’s 15MW large-size wind turbines, while Doosan Enerbility will assemble nacelles at its Changwon wind turbine facility. Doosan Enerbility, which started its offshore wind business in 2005, is the only company in Korea supplying offshore wind turbines, offering models from 3.3MW to 8MW.

The collaboration between Doosan Enerbility and Siemens Gamesa dates back to a June 2022 MoU and was further strengthened by a framework agreement in February 2023. This current MoU builds on their strategic partnership and paves the way for future joint ventures in the sector.
