Poland approves funding for first nuclear power plant

Poland has approved up to 60.2bn zlotys ($14.7bn) in funding for its first nuclear power plant, pending European Union approval, reported Bloomberg.  On 7 January 2025, the cabinet led by Donald Tusk adopted a draft bill enabling the state-owned utility PEJ to construct 3.75GW reactors along the Baltic coast. Grenergy secures $324 million for Oasis de Atacama battery project

Grenergy has obtained $324 million in financing for phase four of its Oasis de Atacama project, named Gabriela. This phase includes 269 MW of solar capacity and 1.1 GWh of storage.  Financing was provided by BNP Paribas, Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, Société Générale, Bank of Nova Scotia, and SMBC. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated its approved list of models and manufacturers (ALMM), increasing India’s total solar module manufacturing capacity under the list to 64.56 GW. CG Power wins reactor package contract from PGCIL

CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited has secured a Rs 583 million contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL).  The contract covers the supply of 400kV Shunt Reactors, including 2X125MVAR, 2X80MVAR, and 2X50MVAR reactors, under the Bulk Procurement of 765kV and 400kV class transformers and reactors.  Other bidders included Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and GE T&D India Limited.

CCI approves Tata Electronics’ acquisition of stake in Pegatron India

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved Tata Electronics (TEPL) to acquire a 60 per cent stake in Pegatron India, the Indian arm of Taiwan’s Pegatron Corporation.  The acquisition, which will occur in two phases, is part of Tata Electronics’ strategy to expand its presence in high-precision manufacturing and electronics services.
