Vjaitra, Trouvé to develop hydrogen-powered air taxi

Vjaitra Air Mobility, a division of Indian drone manufacturer Darsh Dronobotics Systems, has partnered with Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc. to develop a hydrogen-powered 5-seater air taxi with a capacity to cover distances up to 600 km.

Through this partnership, Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc. will help Vjaitra Air Mobility secure funding to build a full-scale prototype of the Hydrogen Air Taxi. This eco-friendly, quieter, and more efficient alternative to traditional travel modes is designed to enhance urban air mobility.

Beyond passenger transport, air taxi initiatives are also being explored for ambulance services, VIP escort, and disaster recovery operations, aiming to improve emergency response capabilities. India’s Urban Air Mobility (UAM) project is progressing, with the Aviation Ministry setting up technical committees to evaluate feasibility and develop policies for this emerging technology.

In a related development, InterGlobe Enterprises and US-based Archer Aviation have announced plans to launch an all-electric air taxi service in India by 2026, targeting routes such as Connaught Place in Delhi to Gurugram, Haryana, in just 7 minutes.
