Vindhya Telelinks Limited has secured a Rs 2,977.52 million contract for distribution infrastructure works in Kerala. The contract covers Package-III under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), targeting Kannur, Kasargod, and Wayanad districts.
Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) invited bids for the package in July 2024. The project is expected to be completed in 250 days and involves strengthening, renovating, and augmenting the state’s existing distribution infrastructure.
Separately, Safety Controls & Devices Limited has won a Rs 229.36 million contract for Substation Package SS-125. This is part of the transmission system for evacuating 20 GW of power from the Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) in Rajasthan under Phase-III Part-J.
The contract was awarded by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), which invited bids in April 2024. The scope includes the extension of the 765/400 kV Bhadla II substation with a 1×1500 MVA transformer and bay equipment upgrades at the Hisar substation for reconductoring of the 220 kV Hisar (PG)-Hisar (IA) double circuit line.
PGCIL is implementing the project in Rajasthan under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM), with an estimated investment of Rs 3.4 billion.
