The joint venture (JV) of Vindhya Telelinks Limited and Ecoplanet Renewable Energy Private Limited has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) worth Rs 2.07 billion for setting up a 40 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power project in Johilla, Madhya Pradesh.
Vindhya Telelinks holds an 80 per cent stake in the JV, while Ecoplanet Renewable owns the remaining 20 per cent.
South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), invited bids for the project in October 2024. The scope includes design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and a 10-year comprehensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contract. The project will span 176 hectares in Nowrozabad tehsil, Umaria district, and is expected to be completed within 12 months from the LoA issuance.
Solar power projects gain momentum across Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh continues to see a surge in solar power developments, with multiple large-scale and rooftop projects progressing across the state.
The JV of Alpex Solar Private Limited and NVNR Power and Infra Private Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a 70 MW solar power project at Nandan Washery of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) in Chhindwara district. The JV quoted Rs 3.5 billion for the project. Other bidders included the consortium of Enerture Technologies Private Limited, Viraj Profiles Private Limited, and M/s GHV (L2) at Rs 3.892 billion, while the JV of Vindhya Telelinks Limited and Ecoplanet Renewable Energy Private Limited (L3) quoted Rs 3.9 billion.
Additionally, Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) invited bids in November 2024 for a total of 26 MW grid-connected and off-grid rooftop solar projects across various locations. The following companies have emerged as L1 bidders under different capacity categories:
- Category A (1 MW off-grid with battery storage): Prostarm Info Systems Limited
- Category B (5 MW grid-connected, 1 kW – 3 kW capacity): Servotech Renewable Power System Limited
- Category C (10 MW grid-connected, above 3 kW – 10 kW): Servotech Renewable Power
- Category D (10 MW grid-connected, above 10 kW – 500 kW): M/s Green Spectrum Solutions (10 kW – 50 kW) and Servotech Renewable Power (above 50 kW – 500 kW)
The scope of work includes design, engineering, installation, and commissioning as per the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) standards. These projects are expected to be completed within five months and will be connected to the existing power network, ensuring efficient renewable energy integration across the state.
With these developments, Madhya Pradesh continues to strengthen its role in India’s solar power expansion, accelerating the shift towards clean energy.
