Vikran Engineering & Exim Private Limited has secured a contract worth Rs 335.24 million for extending the 400/220 kV Tumkur (Pavagada) pooling substation in Karnataka. The package, SS-139, includes the augmentation of transformation capacity with two 500 MVA, 400/220 kV interconnecting transformers (ICTs) and the implementation of a 220 kV line bay. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) had floated the tender in October 2024.

The extension aims to enhance capacity and provide connectivity for renewable energy generation projects.

In Kerala, Ramalingam Construction Company Private Limited and Vindhya Telelinks Limited have won four packages under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), floated by Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) in July 2024.

Ramalingam Construction Company has won:

  • Rs 3,250.67 million contract for Package-I covering Kozhikode and Palakkad districts. Completion time: 318 days.

  • Rs 2,659.81 million contract for Package-II covering Malappuram district. Completion time: 318 days.

Vindhya Telelinks Limited has secured:

  • Rs 4,017.13 million contract for Package-IV covering Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Kottayam districts. Completion time: 300 days.

  • Rs 5,397.65 million contract for the central region, covering Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Idukki districts. Completion time: 320 days.
