UPPCL secures approval for 2,000 MW solar power tender with new deviations

On August 1, 2024, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) received approval to proceed with a 2,000 MW solar power tender after securing modifications under Section 63 of the Electricity Act 2003. The Request for Selection (RFS) for this tender includes provisions favoring local projects in the event of tariff ties, in line with Uttar Pradesh’s Solar Policy 2022.

The state commission approved the tender documents with specific deviations, and UPPCL must now align the tender with these approved changes before moving forward. This approval is a significant step in advancing solar infrastructure development in Uttar Pradesh. The petition was subsequently disposed of following the commission’s approval.
