Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) and M.P. Power Management Company Limited have issued bids to procure a combined 6,100 MW of power and storage capacity.

UPPCL has invited bids to procure 2,000 MW of energy storage capacity from grid connected pumped hydro storage plant/s located anywhere in India. The projects will be developed on a build, own, operate, and manage (BOOM) basis. The last date for bid submission is May 31, 2025.

The supply is expected to begin within 72 months from the signing of the Pumped Hydro Storage Power Procurement Agreement (PHSPPA).

M.P. Power Management Company Limited has floated bids to procure 4,100 MW of power on a long-term basis from thermal power projects (TPPs) in Madhya Pradesh. Of this, 3,200 MW will be sourced from new TPPs and 900 MW from existing TPPs, all located within the state.

The thermal power projects will be developed on a design, build, finance, own, and operate (DBFOO) basis. The bid submission deadline is May 28, 2025.
