Trinasolar partners with AMEA Power for Egypt’s first utility-scale BESS

Chinese solar photovoltaic (PV) module maker Trinasolar has partnered with AMEA Power to deploy its Elementa 2 platform for Egypt’s 300MWh Abydos Solar PV project.
The project marks the country’s first utility-scale battery energy storage solution (BESS) and expands the 500MW solar power plant in Kom Ombo, Aswan Governorate.
Trinasolar’s Elementa 2 platform includes vertically integrated lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, a high-density module design, compatibility with various power conversion systems (PCS), smart liquid cooling, and advanced safety systems.
Vincent Wu, Trinasolar’s global sales vice president, highlighted the project as a transformative step toward North Africa’s sustainable energy transition.
AMEA Power chairman Hussain Al Nowais emphasized the partnership as a significant advancement in Egypt’s renewable energy landscape, showcasing the potential of collaboration for sustainability.
