A stacker cum reclaimer system is used in power plants and industrial facilities to handle bulk materials such as coal, limestone, and iron ore. The stacker arranges materials into stockpiles, while the reclaimer retrieves and conveys them for further processing. In thermal power plants, this system plays a key role in coal handling, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval for boilers. The package typically includes machinery, conveyor systems, electrical and control components, and structural elements.

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) is implementing the brownfield expansion under Unit III and IV of the existing 1,000 MW Koderma project in Gumla district, Jharkhand. Unit 1 (500 MW) was commissioned in July 2011, followed by Unit 2 (500 MW) in February 2013.
