Tata Power’s subsidiary begins solar cell production in Tamil Nadu

TP Solar, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), has commenced commercial production at its 2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, marking it as the largest single-location solar cell and module plant in India.  

The plant currently has a 2 GW production capacity, which will expand by another 2 GW in the coming weeks. The Tirunelveli plant, with a total cell and module manufacturing capacity of 4.3 GW, has produced 1,250 MW of solar modules since its module production line was commissioned in October 2023.

THDC begins draft tube installation at 444 MW Vishnugad Pipalkoti HEP

THDC India Limited has commenced the installation of the draft tube in Unit 1 of the 444 MW Vishnugad Pipalkoti hydroelectric project (HEP) on the Alaknanda River in Uttarakhand. NTPC commissions 160 MW of Bhainsara solar project

State-owned NTPC has announced the commissioning of 160 MW capacity of the 320 MW Bhainsara solar project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. With this commissioning, NTPC’s total installed and commercial capacity has increased to 76,294 MW.
