Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL) has won a letter of award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for a 400 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Maharashtra. The project, expected to be completed within 24 months of signing the power purchase agreement, will contribute to MSEDCL’s sustainable energy needs and help reduce CO2 emissions by 895 million kilograms annually.

This is TPREL’s largest renewable energy project in Maharashtra, with an initial 200 MW capacity and an additional 200 MW greenshoe option. The project supports MSEDCL’s renewable purchase obligation and aims to meet future power demands at competitive rates. TPREL’s total renewable energy capacity now stands at 10.5 GW, with 5.7 GW under development and 4.8 GW operational, including 3.8 GW of solar and 1 GW of wind energy projects.
