Vestas secures turbines order for Ukraine’s largest wind energy project

Vestas has secured an order to supply turbines for the second phase of the Tyligulska wind energy project in Ukraine, the country’s largest renewable energy project.  Following the successful commissioning of the first phase in spring 2023, Vestas will deliver 64 turbines, contributing 384MW to the project’s total capacity of 498MW across both phases. Vestas enters Asia Pacific with wind project order in Japan

Denmark’s Vestas has secured an order to supply 21 V236-15.0 MW turbines for the 315 MW Oga Katagami Akita Offshore Wind Project in Japan’s Akita Prefecture.  The deal includes a long-term service agreement to optimise turbine performance. This marks Vestas’ first firm order for its V236-15.0 MW turbine in the Asia-Pacific region and its first project under Japan’s offshore wind auctions based on the Renewable Energy Sea Area Utilization Act.

Vestas secures 225MW contracts in US, Germany and New Zealand

Vestas has signed contracts for 225MW of wind turbine projects in the US, Germany, and New Zealand, as part of its Q4 2024 order intake. In the US, Vestas received an 86MW order from Brookfield Renewable for the Mulqueeney project. It will deploy V163-4.5MW turbines, with a ten-year AOM 5000 service agreement. Vestas has received a firm and unconditional order for the 1.1GW Inch Cape offshore wind project in Scotland from Inch Cape Offshore, a joint venture between ESB and Red Rock Renewables.  The contract includes the supply, installation, and commissioning of 72 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines. Vestas and Fortum settle arbitration over Russian wind energy projects

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas and Nordic energy company Fortum have settled their arbitration dispute regarding wind energy projects in Russia. Both parties agreed to drop all past, present, and future claims, with the settlement terms remaining confidential. The dispute began in 2022 when Fortum initiated arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce in Stockholm.
