Srikakulam supercritical power project faces local opposition

The proposed 3,200 MW Srikakulam Super Critical Power Project by Sumitomo Corporation is facing strong opposition from local communities due to environmental concerns.  The thermal power plant, planned at Vennelavalasa village in Sarubujjili mandal of Amadalavalasa Assembly segment, is estimated to cost Rs 300 billion.
