Tata Power to invest Rs 11,000 crore in pumped hydro project in Maharashtra

Tata Power Company Limited will invest Rs 11,000 crore in a pumped hydro storage project at Shirawta in Pune, Maharashtra. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2026 and will take about five years to complete. The project will be funded through a 70:30 debt-equity structure. JSW Neo Energy Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for 1,500 MW/12,000 MWh of pumped hydro storage projects (PHSPs) in Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh.
