Avaada to invest Rs 207 billion in renewable energy projects in Odisha

JSW Energy fully operationalizes 700 MW Utkal thermal power plant

JSW Energy Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary, has commenced operations of Unit-2 (350 MW) at the Utkal thermal power plant in Odisha. Both units, with a combined capacity of 700 MW, were restored and made fully operational within two years of acquisition.  The plant operates on domestic coal but does not currently have long-term power purchase agreements.

Odisha approves 7 renewable energy projects worth Rs 13.86 billion

The Odisha government has approved seven renewable energy projects with a combined investment of Rs 13.86 billion to enhance the state’s sustainable energy infrastructure.  The projects, totaling 192.41 MW in capacity, include a 99 MW wind power project, five ground-mounted solar projects totaling 91.77 MW, and a 1.64 MW rooftop solar project.  These initiatives align with the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy 2022, which aims to leverage the state’s natural resources for clean energy generation.
