ERC approves NGCP transmission projects in Philippines

The Philippines Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has approved two transmission projects by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), the private operator of the country’s transmission network. The projects include the PHP20.65 billion, 500 kV Balaoan–Laoag transmission line and the PHP2,585 million, 230 kV Capas substation in Luzon. NGCP energises 230 kV Cebu–Bohol interconnection project

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has energised the 230 kV Cebu–Bohol interconnection project (CBIP).  The 1.2 GW interconnection will enhance grid stability across Central Visayas, covering the islands of Bohol and Cebu. Philippines DOE greenlights 19 energy projects for grid compatibility assessment

The Department of Energy (DOE) in the Philippines has approved 19 projects for grid assessment via the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).  These projects will undergo a system impact study to evaluate grid readiness for new energy connections and identify required upgrades.
