Karnataka’s Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Department and the Energy Department are planning on a 3,000 MW decentralised solar project to reduce the burden of Rs 220 million in annual electricity bills.  The project will cover 29 of Karnataka’s 31 districts, with installations planned in neighbouring districts for rain-fed regions like Kodagu and Chikmagalur.
