KSEB plans to revive 163 MW Athirapally hydro project

Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is working to revive the long-stalled 163 MW Athirapally Hydro Electric Project in Thrissur district. The project, earlier held back due to environmental concerns, has now received environmental clearance. KSEB’s board of directors has approved a revised plan for the project. KSEB invites bids under Dyuthi 2.0 scheme

Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has invited bids for two packages under the Dyuthi 2.0 scheme for upgrading the state’s electricity distribution network.  The tenders, issued on March 25 and March 28, 2025, cover the material supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of low-tension (LT) line works using covered conductor rabbit on a turnkey basis. Kerala announces electricity tariff hike of 16 paise per unit

The Kerala government has announced a 16 paise per unit increase in electricity tariffs for the 2024-25 financial year, effective from December 5, 2024.  An additional hike of 12 paise per unit will follow in the 2025-26 financial year. This marks the fifth tariff increase under the Pinarayi government’s tenure since 2016.
