Voith Hydro wins Rs 1.65 bn contract for Mankulam hydro project

Voith Hydro Private Limited has secured a contract valued at Rs 1,647.5 million for executing electromechanical (E&M) works for the Mankulam Hydro Electric Project in Kerala. KSEB plans to revive 163 MW Athirapally hydro project

Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is working to revive the long-stalled 163 MW Athirapally Hydro Electric Project in Thrissur district. The project, earlier held back due to environmental concerns, has now received environmental clearance. KSEB’s board of directors has approved a revised plan for the project. Kerala announces electricity tariff hike of 16 paise per unit

The Kerala government has announced a 16 paise per unit increase in electricity tariffs for the 2024-25 financial year, effective from December 5, 2024.  An additional hike of 12 paise per unit will follow in the 2025-26 financial year. This marks the fifth tariff increase under the Pinarayi government’s tenure since 2016.
