China commissions 500 MW hybrid energy storage project
China has commissioned a large scale hybrid energy storage facility in the northwest of the country, marking a milestone in the use of combined battery and supercapacitor technologies for grid support. The Jiayuguan NingSheng 500 MW/1,000 MWh independent energy storage project was connected to the grid on 30 December 2025.
