Fox Squirrel Solar project reaches full operational status in Ohio

The 577MW Fox Squirrel Solar project in Madison County, Ohio, has reached full operational status.  Developed by EDF Renewables and co-owned with Enbridge, the facility is one of the largest utility-scale solar developments east of the Mississippi River. EDF Renewables signs 20-year energy storage PPA with APS for 250 MW Beehive BESS

EDF Renewables has secured a 20-year Energy Storage Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Arizona Public Service (APS) for the Beehive Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Peoria, Arizona.  This 250 MW, four-hour duration stand-alone battery system, totalling 1,000 MWh, will start construction in 2025 and is set for commercial operation by 2026.  Beehive BESS, equipped with lithium-ion batteries, inverters, transformers, and a substation, will store renewable energy to meet peak demand, supporting APS’s capacity needs. …

Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm generates first power for UK grid

The 450 MW Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore wind farm, located 15.5km off the coast of Fife, Scotland, has delivered its first power to the UK national grid.  Once fully operational by summer 2025, NnG will provide clean energy to 375,000 homes, offsetting over 400,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually.
