Competition Commission of India

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved Tata Electronics (TEPL) to acquire a 60 per cent stake in Pegatron India, the Indian arm of Taiwan’s Pegatron Corporation.  The acquisition, which will occur in two phases, is part of Tata Electronics’ strategy to expand its presence in high-precision manufacturing and electronics services. Pegatron India, located in Chennai, employs about 10,000 people and manufactures five million iPhones annually for export to North America, Asia, and Europe….
