AMEA Power to develop 1500 MWh BESS in Egypt

AMEA Power has signed an agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to develop two standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a total capacity of 1500 megawatt-hours (MWh). UAE-based renewable energy developer AMEA Power has secured two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in South Africa, each with over 300 megawatt-hours of capacity. The Gainfar and Boitekong projects, located in the North West Province, aim to address frequent blackouts and load shedding. AMEA Power commissions 500 MW Abydos Solar PV plant in Egypt

AMEA Power has commissioned the 500 MW Abydos Solar PV Plant in Egypt’s Aswan Governorate.  The plant will generate around 1,500 GWh of renewable energy annually, reducing carbon emissions by 782,300 tonnes. The project was completed in 18 months.
