Africa’s largest wind farm begins operations in Egypt’s Red Sea region

AMEA Power has commissioned a 500-megawatt (MW) wind power plant in Ras Ghareb, located in Egypt’s Red Sea Governorate. The facility is now the largest operational wind farm in Africa. The project is a joint venture between AMEA Power, which holds a 60% stake, and the Japanese firm Sumitomo Corporation, which owns the remaining 40%. AMEA Power to develop 1500 MWh BESS in Egypt

AMEA Power has signed an agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to develop two standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a total capacity of 1500 megawatt-hours (MWh). AMEA Power commissions 500 MW Abydos Solar PV plant in Egypt

AMEA Power has commissioned the 500 MW Abydos Solar PV Plant in Egypt’s Aswan Governorate.  The plant will generate around 1,500 GWh of renewable energy annually, reducing carbon emissions by 782,300 tonnes. The project was completed in 18 months.
