GoI applies for loan from AIIB for Assam transmission project

The Government of India has applied for a USD 186 million loan from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) for the Assam Intra-State Transmission System Enhancement Project Phase II.  The initiative aims to strengthen Assam’s electricity transmission system by constructing new transmission sub-stations, upgrading existing ones, and installing optical power ground wire (OPGW) in the state.

Techno Electric JV wins Rs 6.16 billion Assam transmission system project

The Joint Venture of Techno Electric and Engineering Company Limited (TEECL) and K. Ramachandra Rao Transmission & Projects Private Limited has secured a Rs 6.16 billion contract for Package H of the Assam Intra-State Transmission System Enhancement Project (Phase I).  The project, awarded by Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited (AEGCL), involves constructing a 400/220kV, 2×500 MVA GIS substation at Sonapur, along with associated transmission lines.
