    India’s roadmap to 100 GW nuclear power by 2047

    The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has outlined a roadmap to expand India’s nuclear power capacity from the current 8.88 GW to 100 GW by 2047. The Ministry of Power, through an office memorandum dated 27 February 2025, constituted a committee to prepare this roadmap.   India’s current installed nuclear capacity stands at 8.88 GW, contributing about 2 per cent of total electricity generation.
