State-run SJVN Ltd has signed two MoUs with the Maharashtra Government to develop 8.1 GW of pumped storage projects and 505 MW floating solar projects. 

The first MoU, with the Department of Water Resources, covers five pumped storage projects totalling 8.1 GW, including Kolmondapada (800 MW), Sidgarh (1,500 MW), Chornai (2,000 MW), Baitarni (1,800 MW), and Jalvara (2,000 MW). 

The second MoU, with MAHAGENCO, focuses on a 505 MW floating solar project at Lower Wardha Dam, to be developed in phases of 100 MW and 405 MW.

The Rs 480 billion investment will create approximately 8,400 jobs and support eco-tourism and skill development.
