SJVN Limited has awarded a total of 648 MW of renewable energy projects under its Tranche-II and Tranche-III auctions.
On February 28, 2025, NLC India Limited (NLCIL) secured a Letter of Award (LoA) for developing 200 MW Inter State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind power projects under Tranche-II, quoting a tariff of Rs 3.74 per kWh.
The project will be implemented on a build, own, and operate (BOO) basis, including a dedicated transmission network up to the interconnection point.
A 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) will be signed between SJVN and NLCIL, with completion expected within 24 months from the PPA’s effective date.
Additionally, five firms have won bids under SJVN’s Tranche-III auction for supplying 448 MW of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) power from ISTS-connected renewable energy projects. The awarded capacities and tariffs are as follows:
- ReNew Solar Power Private Limited: 100 MW at Rs 4.82 per kWh
- EG Energy Development Private Limited (Enfinity Global): 60 MW at Rs 4.83 per kWh
- Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon Private Limited (DRAIPL): 100 MW at Rs 4.86 per kWh
- Serentica Renewables India Private Limited (SRIPL): 100 MW at Rs 4.89 per kWh
- Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL): 88 MW at Rs 4.91 per kWh (out of its 200 MW bid)
SJVN had invited bids in April 2024 for 600 MW of wind power projects under Tranche-II and in August 2024 for 1,200 MW of FDRE power under Tranche-III.
The Tranche-III projects will be developed on a BOO basis, including a dedicated transmission network. SJVN will enter into 25-year PPAs with the successful bidders, and power supply is scheduled to commence within 24 months from the PPA signing date. The project needs to maintain an annual capacity utilization factor of at least 75 percent, adhering to government technical guidelines and regulatory standards to ensure timely commissioning.
